4 stars (Better than expected and personable!!!) - I am a big WWII air combat fan playing such games as IL2 Forgotten Battles, Pacific Fighters ect..... which I still think is the best WWII flight combat sims to date and until (Battle of Britain 2 Wings of Victory) when it comes out if it ever does, will most likely change that! That said, I am not much into jet era combat. Why? It is very impersonable.........modern air combat is boring to me! You have advanced technology so you can detect your enemy before you even see him visually and lanch a heat seeking missle at him miles away to blow him out of the sky. Keep in mind, I have played Lock-On, Falcon 4.0 Allied Force which to me are boring and dull jet era flight sims. Sure you have the best jet sims out there on the market but what fun is a dog fight when you can't see your enemy? We'll my friends the Vietnam era was still as personable as WWII was. The heat seeking missles and rader technology was in it's infency and that meant you still had to interact visually with the enemy not lanch a missle to hit a target on the ground or in the sky miles out of your visual range! It was the last era for this type of "old fashion" combat so I picked up the sim and gave her a try! I first hated it I admit because of the learning curve (there is a learning curve depite what another reviewer stated) so naturally I had to be very patient which is not my forte! I even uninstalled WOV for a half a year (I have had this game from the first release date!) and just recently gave her another try. Now that I have more experance with other flight sims like IL2 series and Lock-On I eased into the curve and now have became more of an adverage player than just a impatient newbe! Graphics are not that great as some of the other newer flight sims out there except for the plane detail which is what counts overall, but that's not why I play this game for anyway. So, listen to the other reviewers and give this game a try if you are a hist... 5 stars (A good handbook for interior details!) - The day I received the Interior Graphic Standards , I used some of the details in the book for a project I was working on. This book provides information, including construction details, which are very useful to the practicing architect and interior designer. 5 stars (Bible of Interior Design~!) - I'm an Interior Design student at Ryerson University in Toronto, and I have never seen a book that is as comprehensive as the IGS. It covers almost everything. I've used this book as a reference for almost every school project I've done. My professor strongly recommended this book to us, but at first I was hesitated to buy it because of the price. However I found it cheaper to buy online than in retail bookstores. I told my classmates about it and showed them the book, after they've seen it they said they are all gonna buy it. Overall this book is worth its price and I strongly recommend it~! 5 stars (Most Comprehensive and Remarkable Book for the Industry) - This book is a remarkable achievement, from cover to cover! A must buy for anyone in the industry (or anyone interested in the industry)!!! I have been a practicing Interior Designer for eighteen years and I have yet to see anything as comprehensive and remarkable as this book! Even the Architectural Graphic Standards book pales by comparison! There is a section on Wood Veneers and Flooring with (12) pages of beatiful and informative color plates! There is even a Color Theory (color plate) section that is very useful! There is so much useful information and reference in this book, that any Designer or Architect should have it close by and keep a watchful eye on it, so that colleagues do not borrow it indefinitely!! ... 5 stars (Framing) - This is a wonderful addition to any collection of carpentry books. Good clear explanations, precise drawings, and a great resource for experts and novice alike. 5 stars (EXCELLENT RESOURCE BOOK) - i am a 3rd year arch. student with some minimal understanding of general wood construction.Coming from a design oriented school they dont really teach any practical knowledge of the field but i personally think that i need to know some of it to get myself prepared, even before i graduate. This book helps a lot.It has a lot of information regarding the common practices we find outside with adequate amount of details to make you understand.Picture is worth a thousand words and this book is all about that. You do need to have some basic knowledge though to fully understand. The only con i would consider is that scope is only limited to typical residential wood construction. For project details of bigger size and greater complexity you need to look further. 3 stars (It's Ok, There are Better Books) - It is all about graphics in this book, a method of presenting that I enjoy but it needs some text and why behind those graphs. There are much better references out there on the subject than this book. ... 5 stars (Do It Right - Do It Yourself - And Save Money!) - On the last couple of patent applications I submitted, I ended up doing 90% of the drawings myself because it turned out to be easier than continuously having to correct the mistakes of the draftsman. My attorney said that my drawings just needed to be shaded and cleaned up a bit, and have the legends applied, but otherwise what ended up going into the applications was essentially my drawings with a few more bells and whistles. His draftsman had just put them on a light table and copied them as is. But I still had to pay for the drawings! This book was able to get me the rest of the way there by detailing the regulations that the USPTO puts on drawings. They're not really difficult, but they ARE specific. Don't be intimidated by them. The very simple drawing style specified by the USPTO is to allow clear reproduction and printing. My attorney charges $295 per figure, and one page can have 2 or 3 figures on it! The last application we submitted had about a dozen figures total. Some of the expense is the work of integrating and describing the drawings, but it is guaranteed to save you money if you do your own drawings. Besides, this ensures that you will be satisfied with the quality and accuracy. Don't forget you can also have the draftsman do the difficult 3-D "Figure 1" bit, and you do the simpler stuff. Like me, I'll bet you'll find it easier than you thought! 5 stars (Outstanding Step by Step for the Do-it-yourself Inventor) - I have all of David Pressman's books on patenting, you know why? Because I filed my own patent using these books. That's how good they are. They really do have step by step instructions. He also has software that helps you prepare the docs. I sort of used that as well. Again, reasonable priced, and useful. I strongly recommend these books for anyone that wants to File a Patent. They will allow you to do it yourself without an attorney. 5 stars (The best I've ever seen) -... 5 stars (Best Golf Lesson Ever) - Tiger Woods picked the right guy -- I am a 7 handicap and this is the best golf instruction book I have ever read (Nicklaus, Hogan, Woods, Watson, Harmon, Penick, Couples, Floyd, etc.). The one-plane angle concept is so technically sound and the only golf-aid you need to dramatically improve your swing is a mirror. Excellent pictures help capture exactly what Hank is explaining. At any level, this book is a cornerstone for building a bomb-proof golf swing. Most importantly, hit good shots and enjoy it -- instead of going to find it :)! 1 stars (Re: "Good Idea - Bad Execution's" review of May 29, 1999) - I agree with everything you said! I would like to confirm that the writing and/or editing needs improvement at the very least. I was irritated by the confusing phrases and clauses, and poor punctuation. It's hard to make any sense of what he's talking about (sorry). And thank God I didn't pay full price; I borrowed it from the local library and took it back. 5 stars (the only golf lesson you'll ever need) - I have read many golf instruction books but this one by Hank Haney has to be one of the best. The photographs are very good and illustrate the principles discussed extremely well.I finally found a swing thought that controls my reverse pivot problem that often ruins my drive. The grip and alignment advice helped greatly the first time I went out on the course. If you only read one book on golf instruction, this is the one to buy. ...
