4 stars (Must have) - I you have more than 20 phone numbers this is a must have. At Sprint they were unable to transfer my phone book from my old phone to my new one (although they were able to do the transfer for my wife and a friend that had/have the exact same phones). This enable us to share number, plus keep a back up on the computer in the event of a problem. I would have given this product 5 stars if the ringtone portion of the software was worth anything (ie: if you were able to convert and transfer MP3's) but alas for the price the phone book feature alone makes it worth it. 5 stars (Fantastic Product!) - I have only written a few reviews... too little time. But I am so pleased by this product that I will make time. This product includes the USB cord AND software. (Some companies sell each product separately... ) What a success! My cell phone is Sprint's Sanyo PM-8200. Works perfectly at home and office with Windows XP and Outlook. I've transferred pictures, updated and backed up my contact list without problems. Reading and editing outlook appointments on the phone has been less optimal due to phone limitations. However, the software product works. The price was a bargain, considering that other stores, i.e., Radio Shack, several on-line stores... were much higher... nearly 2x the price I paid at Amazon. Although I have only one Sanyo Cell-phone, I was pleased to read that I could connect up to "five" different phones. Anyway... this product works. If I lost the software and USB cord, I would buy this product again. 3 stars (Very quirky item) - I just needed an easy way to get pictures off my camera onto my computer. After emails to and from tech support we got this product to work. And for what I need it for it works fine. I have even used it to upload some ringtones to my phone which worked fine as well. There is some tweeking that needs to be done from time to time. (Re-booting usually does the trick.) I paid way too much ... 4 stars (Features) - The features worked as described. The launcher interface is a little hokey. It is a picture of a phone and you click on the buttons of the phone to open the features. I liked the ringtone editor, very complete; though the included background tracks were somewhat lacking. I don't use the date planner stuff, so I don't know about that. My pictures and contacts downloaded quite easily though it is painfully slow. Overall a good buy if you want to back up your own data or create your own ringtones etc. I personally like entering all my contact data via keyboard and send it up to the phone - easier and faster. 3 stars (needs improvement) - Positives: + easy to install + user friendly software + can import outlook contacts + can support multiple phones Negatives: - doesn't run under a limited user account in windows - doesn't recognize the second phone if it is the same model as the first phone - doesn't come with a variety of wallpapers and ringtones like other data cables ... 1 stars (Does not work with Mac OS X) - even though Susteen claims DataPilot for Mac supports my phone, a Samsung x475. Not only Mac users should be wary of purchasing this product but others should expect slow and inept technical support. After waiting more than a week for a response to my email request, the support tech's only advice was to upgrade to DataPilot version 2.2.0, which I had already clearly listed as my current version in the request. I have received no further response after I replied pointing out I already was using version 2.2.0 and asking for additional suggestions to get DataPilot to function. That was two weeks ago. Beware of this company! 2 stars (DataPilot for Mac OS X needs work & better customer service) - The short version: DataPilot for Mac is pretty much useless. It garbles calendar appointments when transferring to Apple Calendar or Entourage and lacks any form of merging/syncing capability between phone and these tools. It's more expensive than the PC version and customer support is unresponsive. I've returned my copy for a refund (thanks Amazon for making this painless). The long version: I've been looking for a way to synchronize my Entourage calendar with my cell phone (an LG VX6100). Fortunately e2sync does a fine job of bidrectional sync of Entourage contacts and appointments with Apple Address Book and Calendar, so I thought all I needed to do was find something that would bridge the gap to my phone. I'd looked at DataPilot a while back but they didn't support calendar transfer in the Mac version available at the time. The newest version supposedly supports it, and I found it on Amazon for an acceptable price. Data Pilot for Mac comes in only two versions: the software only or the Universal Kit version which includes all the adapters. For some reason Susteen does not offer a Mac version with a specific phone cable. Any way you slice it, the Mac version is more money than the PC version. For the premium, I expected at least eq... 4 stars (ok but hard to setup) - the program works great once you figure a few things out.had to call tech support but they were very helpful 1 stars (they don't tell you this) - I purchased the sofware and cable for my LG600. I passed up the verizon version because Susteen';s supposidly allowed you to edit ringtones and images. It does not do that very well. I purchased it so I would not have to reenter 250 contacts into my phone and could back it up incase of phone loss or falure. We after almost a year of dealing with Datapilots tech support, on my own I found that if you had Verizon move your contacts from one phone to another, Datapilot will not be able to transfer. the program will crash after just a few entries. I now have to spend another $80 to buy Verizons version and have only contact capability. DO NOT BUY ANY PRODUCT FROM SUSTEEN. THEY DON'T TELL YO EVERYTHING. ... 1 stars (Don't waste the money) - I'm not happy with the purchase of this software at all. Having an LG VX7000 cellphone with camera, I have a lot of pictures and numbers in my phone and wanted to back them up. I could never get this software to operate properly. After installing per instructions on a Windows XP platform on a laptop, I could never get the software to perform the functions I bought it for. I bought it to: 1) Download and back up my phone directory, 2) Upload songs as ringtones and other custom-made songs, and 3) Download pictures from my phone to my laptop. NONE of these functions worked. 1) In trying to download my phone directory to my laptop, the software ceased working and Windows closed down my laptop by performing a Windows memory dump and then re-booting (EVERYTIME, not just once or a few times). 2) Everytime I tried to upload an MP3 song as a new ringtone, the software failed by either saying I had no connection, or that my phone memory was full (it wasn't and had over 3 Mb of space). 3) When i tried to download pictures from my phone to the laptop, the software ran EXTREMELY slow in running any transfers and eventually locked up my computer. I successfully downloaded only one of 86 pictures before giving up. Telephone support was hard to get, as I was put on hold three times and gave that up too. After reading reviews on the product, I gave up any effort to resolve this. I wished I had read these other reviews before buying the software, as I would never have bought it. 3 stars (Better than entering data by hand) - The software basically works but it is quirky and not much fun . . . but, yeah, it is a whole lot better than entering the data by hand. Not much was supported on my new phone but all I wanted was to import my phone directory rather than have to enter several hundred numbers manually -- and importing the directory was one of the functions supported.
