Quote, "Her eyes came back from their long gaze and settled on him full of an intelligence which deepened his perplexity. "You have not learned to know me yet; death is not more inexorable or time more tireless than I. This week has seemed one of indolent delight to you. To me it has been one of constant vigilance and labor, for scarcely a look, act, or word of mine has been without effect... 5 stars (great tool for team and conference) - I thought this book was extremely helpful with ideas on how to improve service and thereby improve business 5 stars (The Fred Factor) - We purchased "The Fred Factor" to use as part of an all day retreat in our department. During the earlier part of the day, we discussed the previous fiscal year results, our plans for the current year and then used questions on the book for discussion of what it would be like to be a "Fred" and work and live with people like him. All were requested to read the book before the day, and so it proved a helpful backdrop to the focus of our day. Our groups had some interesting perspectives...great tool for team building! 5 stars (Nice review of the value of going the extra mail) - This short book focuses on a mailman Mark Sanborn met, a man named Fred. When the author first met Fred, Fred took an effort to get to know his new customer, and find ways to do a better job as a mailman. This book about the value of doing a better job, how to build relationships, and why we should take initiative. In short by going the extra mile we'll have a better life, and others will benefit. It is a good book, and a short book. It is well written. The book is entertaining and at the same time makes many good points. The first of four sections covers how the author met Fred the mailman, and how very quickly the author realized that Fred was a superstar mail carrier. The basics of what a "Fred" is are explored, and then the author mentions sightings of other "Freds." The second section explains how you can become a Fred. Basically you need to build relationships with others so you know them well enough to then be able to be create, take initiative and make a difference. The third section gives pointers on how you can help others grow into being Freds. The basic steps are to: 1) Find - how do you recognize a Fred 2) Reward - how should Freds be rewarded 3) Educate - how help people improve thei... 4 stars (A Must Read) - I thought this book was very motivational. It makes you understand how much further you can go and how much more you receive( success, referrals, whatever) by just being you! Very inspirational, a must read for sales or any profession dealing with the public. 5 stars (Inspiring!) - Many Americans are unhappy because they were never raised to be a "Fred". No wealth or possessions can make up for an unhealthy and usually self centered attitude in life. Choose to be a "Fred" and start living with and giving much joy! 5 stars (Not for the lazy or unmotivated......) - This book is a great "how to" make a difference and impact people's lives every day. This is not a fiction book for you to just enjoy and read---although it is a good "read". It is a book which will inspire you to take action. It isn't a story about Fred. It is your story and the story of how you can create an extraordinary life for yourself and the people you touch. If you are a person of action and want to make a difference in people's lives, then read the book, embrace it's concepts and become a Fred yourself. ... 5 stars (this rocks!@!!!!!!!!!) - okay, lets get started. this game is for veteran players (i recommend) cuz joey is very cunning and tends to go for flashy moves, and uses brute strength too with a very nice combination of magic and trap cards. he also may be very annoyin sometimes. i liked this game cuz it was a grea t improvement over yugi the destiny ( which i have and think its too easy to beat) and kaiba the revenge ( which was too hard for beginers and had WAY too many complicated cards) i'm a pretty decent duellist myself too. some combos to look out for: summoner of illusions effect: summon a fusion card on the field and at the end of the turn, destroy the fusion card. activates by sacrificin summoner of illusions. he really got me with that one. it's hard to counter and it's surprisin to see blue-eyes ultimate dragon attackin u. 5 stars (BIG improvement over Yugi the Destiny) - So Konami did OK with Yugi, but left room for a lot of improvement. They did better with Kaiba, but still had some things to work out. Would the third time be the charm with Joey, and see them produce an excellent game? The short answer: an emphatic YES. For starters, Joey has over 700 cards you can access, including all the ones from Yugi and Kaiba. You don't have to do anything to access cards already won on the two previous games, the program automatically gives them to you. Joey also contains a "level stars" system that allows you to track your skill level, and Joey alters his deck and his playing abilities to match yours. Even better, you can LOSE levels with losses, so there's always incentive to win enough times just to stay where you are! For fans of the cartoon series, Joey plays with a variety of decks as featured in various episodes: Escaroba's "Jinzo" deck, evil Bakura's "Spirit Board" deck, Weebil Underwood's "Insect Queen" deck, the "Revival Jam" deck used by the Marek slave that had "Slyther, the Sky Dragon" (though no Slyther is in it), etc. (I've not got... 4 stars (At last a story about a strong woman with an acutal strong woman) - Many romance storys thrive on the play between the hero and the heroine. Between the strong minded blue-stocking and the yet to be reformed rake... But most fail in actually giving the reader a strong female heroine. Oh she might give the hero a little trouble in the beginning but then she goes all mullen headed and falls in love and loses her brains. Not so in the tale... I felt the author did a much better job at having two strong characters and yet having them fall in love without their brains oozing out their ears. The author also presents the reader with a interesting story and mystery along with the romance. This is why Stephanie Laurens continues to be one of my favored romance writers. 4 stars (Overdone on the Strong Female...) - Although overall I like this book, just like most, I found it to be a little wordy and long-winded. The thing that bothered me the most, though I like women with a backbone, is that she had to be in charge ALL THE TIME. Sometimes I wanted to say, "For goodness sake, let HIM be a man!". Also, the word "haughty" was used over and over again. Personally, I don't want to be around a person - male or female - who is constantly referred to as haughty. Also, it seemed like every time Jack said something, her response was "hummph". What does that mean? Although I liked her somewhat, I definitely liked his character much more. She seemed to me to be one of the two extremes - either incredibly prickly or incredibly passionate; there was no happy medium. I know this all sounds like I hated the book, which I didn't. I just think it drug on a little too long - perhaps like my review! 4 stars (Enjoyable read) - I enjoyed the main characters, Jack and Clarice, of this story. She is a woman raised to be a prominent member of society, and has inherited the forceful personality of her father. That personality is at odds with the society of which she is part, ...
