5 stars (Glory!) - I found this book to be one of the best Christian books I have ever read, bar none. I facilitate the Adult Bible Class at my church. I read it in April or May and then we studied it in the class in June and July. I am still reflecting on it after all this time! I cannot describe what I liked about the book. I can only say that Nouwen writes to me where I am. So much of what he said seemed to be written just for me. 5 stars (Mysticism through Art appreciation) - If nothing else, Henri Nouwen takes the reader on a methodology of how to appreciate a painting, in this case Rembrandt's specifically. He takes us on an observation tour which transcends into our very hearts as we realize that there's much more to the painted story than the son; there's the father; the other brother; and other people watching. At some point in time we are all one or a combination of the characters diplayed. Nouwen brushes his words as Rembrandt brushed his oils. A wonderful experience, and a book to keep and reread. 4 stars ("You are called to become the father") - Nouwen skillfully navigates Rembrandt's masterwork and Christ's (arguably) most famous parable. In both he finds "the heart of the gospel": God's unconditional love for the world. The navigation comprises three stages: the story of the prodigal son, the story of the elder brother and finally the challenge to find yourself as the father/mother at the center of the painting. Each stage has its own crises, breakthroughs and ultimate redemption - with the possible exception of the elder brother whose decision to enter the father's love is left ambivalent. Towards the end Nouwen achieves his dynamic spiritual insights, sounding almost Buddhist when he announces, "There is a dreadful emptiness in spiritual fatherhood ... But that same dreadful emptiness is also the place of true freedom." We are ultimately left with a portrait of impoverished fatherhood that is as wise as it is compelling. "Rembrand... 4 stars (Fundamental Olap principles) - I was impressed by the quality of this book; this is probably the most complete book on OLAP theory and is a fundamental reading for professionals involved in the design of olap systems. In most cases it gives all the details and information needed to master this technology. It also contains some practical examples that are very useful to see how the theory can be applied in the real world. I didn't read the first edition, but the second edition contains new sections and many updates, like a description of SQL-99 OLAP extensions. The author chose to be vendor-independent, so all practical examples are based on a multidimensional language that he created, called Located Contents (LC). However, when I read it I had already used a couple of OLAP tools (Microsoft Analysis Services and Microstrategy), and I think that this helped me understand many of the concepts contained in the book. 4 stars (Good OLAP Methodology) - OLAP is a somewhat arcane corner of the IT universe and this book is a good guide to it for information and business professionals. It covers the basics well and provides decent exaples to get you going. Of course, the hardest part of OLAP is making the conceptual leap from relational databases and transactional processing to the world of analytical processing, but finance experts and accountants will appreciate OLAP and its ability to summarize data in a way that is hard to do in most ERP and legacy systems. 5 stars (A must read for anybody involved in Olap design) - A book which gives you a comprehensive theoretical foundation together with useful, pratical techniques to design Olap solutions. 4 stars (Challenging, but Fun!) - OoW is a good expansion if you enjoy being challenged. However, some zones are a bit annoying to get to especially if you play a class that can't turn invisible without a potion, vanishing device, etc. My cleric is level 70 (max level now) but dying in a new zone, such as Muramite Proving Grounds, is awful because of all the zones you have to cross to get there & with mobs that sometimes see invisible. Needless to say corpse runs can be very time consuming in some of these zones. There are easier zones to get to that are still rewarding. It isn't very difficult to gain experience quickly and nice gear in these new zones even if you aren't level 65+. The new epics are nice. However, it is unlikely that you will be able to obtain yours unless you're in a raiding guild or have lots of friends in high places that will help you. You can now obtain an extra spell slot, which I think is great. New AAs have been added, some powerful spells, they've increased the amount of buffs you can have on at one time, added voice macros that allow you to send voice messages (in tells, group, or raid) asking for assistance, telling others to wait, attack, etc. The voice macros are not really important, but still fun to mess with when you're bored. If you're a risk taker and enjoy challenging situations then you will probably enjoy Omens of War. ... 5 stars (Awesome book!!!) - I bought this book for my dinosaur loving nephew. It is truly amazing. Each page has a wonderful center pop-up with 3 or 4 smaller pop-ups. It opens and closes without getting stuck. I brought it to work and now everyone is ordering Mr. Sabuda's books for Christmas gifts. Love it!!! 5 stars (BEAUTIFUL POP-UP BOOK!
