2 stars (Disappointed) - My opinion is the food plan will work but this book is not laid out well. I found myself going back and forth trying to locate the info I needed. The book refers to info in previous written books which I do not own. This info should be included in this book! The first 4 chapters tend to cover the science aspect of the diet...For me a simple statement would do since I don't have any interest in the rest or even understand most of it to be simply honest. Moving ahead...I did begin the cleanse process, only using 1 of the supplements suggested...(taking herbal la'xs 3 'xs daily is not healthy in my opinion so I chose not to use that portion of the cleanse) I did lose 6.5# my first week. Even though I have had success with the cleanse part of the diet, I am disappointed in the book as a whole. 4 stars (GOOD INFORMATION FOR DETOXING AND FOR CHOOSING WATER) - I LIKED THIS BOOK, I HAVE BEEN STUDYING HEALTH AND NUTRITION FOR OVER 20 YEARS. THIS BOOK REALLY HELPS YOU TO CHOOSE A GOOD PH BALANCED WATER. AS A RESULT OF THE INFORMATION I FOUND A WATER THAT IS REALLY BETTER THAN THE REST. TRINITY WATER IS REALLY BETTER THAN ALOT OF THE WATERS I HAVE USED. EVERY BOOK I READ THAT GIVES ME SOME KIND OF BENEFICIAL INFORMATION IS USEFUL. THIS WAS ONE OF THOSE BOOKS. I RECOMEND IT. 5 stars (PH Miracle for Weight Loss) - Finally! A detailed plan of diet that will serve excellent health for the lifetime! Not just a weight loss book, but a way to feel great, and detoxify the entire body. The weight is dropping, and energy is increasing after just 3 weeks! Thank you, Robert and Shelley Young. ... 3 stars (its a math book) - not gonna do back flips for a math book 5 stars (Pleasently Surprised) - I am a college student and the math book that was at the bookstore was $100.00. I went onto amazon.com and found the same book in new condition (looked like)for $56.00. I was kind of weary about ordering on-line for the first time but was pleasently surprised. This was a great first experience and plan on ording all my books through amazon.com. 5 stars (Fun mathematical Ideas) - "Ideas" is the key here as we have calculators, computers, and what not to do any real number crunching or comparing. This book carries you from zero to the edges of most any mathematical discipline. The information in the margins ties the theories back to reality. At the appropriate locations in the margin are postage stamps from around the works are shown commemorating the individual mathematicians and scientists relating to the subject being studied. There is a section in the book with the answers to all the odd questions. ... 3 stars (Not totally unique -- but still helpful for the stash-stumped) - For knitters looking to clear the stash out from under the bed (to make room for-let's be honest here-more yarn), Barbara Albright has written Odd Ball Knitting. In this book, Albright provides a plethora of tips and patterns for knitters looking to do a little stash-busting. From small patterns that use just a little bit of yarn (like finger puppets or scarves or sachets) to larger projects that use different kinds of yarn to create one unique piece (like a colorful striped poncho or shawl), Albright provides plenty of solutions for stashes of every size and color palette. While many of the projects are pretty standard-projects that you can find on the pages other knitting books and magazines-Albright does something that no one else has done. She puts them together in one stash-focused book to aid the stash-stumped. She also throws in tips for storing yarn, stash-busting, and even for figuring out just how much yarn is left on a partially-used ball. The chart provided in the back of the book also allows you to choose projects based on what you've got stored behind your sofa. If your home is under siege by yarn balls of various colors and sizes and you don't feel like flipping through your collection of books and magazines to search for just the right pattern, Odd Ball Knitting will get you started on the road to stash-free living. Or at least it'll help you clear up some room for the next clearance sale at your local yarn shop. 1 stars (Waste of Money) - I was hoping to see some new and creative ways to use leftover yarn. This book does not deliver. 3 stars (Eh) - Most of these patterns can be found for free someplace on the internet. I did not find anything here that was overly creative or that really said, "Oh yea.... I could do THAT!" This would probably be something for a new knitter. ... 5 stars (A Primer for Disaster Recovery Planning) - reader who want to start their DRP, and do not know where to start with, this is the book that you can kick off with your DRP meeting with this guide. A good book that you can trust and work around with your IT DR on this subject. Case studies, project timelines, statistics, organisastion charts of a DRP, and some questionairs and forms help readers to quickly have all these information in your finger tips. As a planner, I find it very useful too. It also act as a check lists of your current planning and be sure to cover as many area as possible. The Appendix is very useful that provide flowcharts, charts, diagrams, forms, questionair, procedures and more. A book that should not be miss. 5 stars (Disaster Recovery Planning) - As an IT Manager for a mid-sized (140 emp) company, I found the primer to be extremely helpful as a starting point for planning. Hiatt clearly explains the nature of risk and planning. Statistics are lengthy but drive the point home. Most importantly, she reveals that DRP isn't only about IT. If you are an IT person in charge of starting the process, this is an excellent primer that points out all the other areas you have to consider. Hiatt outlines in 100 pages all the elements of research, planning, implementation, and maintenance. She reveals who should be involved in the process and what type of people should maintain the accuracy and currency of the plan. She even gives criteria on how to choose your team. Hiatt references many times throughout the manual when/how/if to use an outside consultant and off-site storage facilities. The following 150+ pages of vendor listings, charts and appendices are extremely helpful. She doesn't just write about planning, but gives you the checklists, plans, and questionnaires to help you get started. It will be much easier for me to use some of her lists and customize for our needs instead of having to write it all from scratch. Plus, sh...
