5 stars (Awesome Teaching Tool) - This is an excellent teaching tool for those who are unfamiliar with the language, especially since it gives a phonetic voice to the words, one gets the correct emphesis on the word so as not to confuse one word for another's meaning. 5 stars (Great for learning) - I knew some Hawaiian words, but since I have received this my family and I have learned whole lot more. This program makes it easy to learn Hawaiian words for both adults and kids. The children love it and it seems to makes them want to know more about their heritage. If I had to learn any other languages I'd surely use the Instant Immersion software to learn it. ... 5 stars (There is a newer edition of this book!) - Snorkel Hawaii The Big Island Second Edition is the current, in print version of this book. From time to time, the Amazon search engine sends people to this older, out of print version. We have tried repeatedly to correct this, but Amazon seems unable to do it. Try clicking on the authors names, and look for Snorkel Hawai The Big Island Second Edition, which is more up to date. 5 stars (WONDERFUL!!) - Handy and cleverly detailed, the Malinowskis sure know the Big Island. There were enough listings to keep me diving every day for two weeks. You have to go underwater to really appreciate this place. You should also buy a surfing rashguard top to stay warm because you'll be underwater more than you ever thought. The Big Island Revealed pales in complexion and is not a contender when it comes to knowing anything about snorkeling. You won't need to sign up for a pricey professional tour if you have this book. Snorkeling Hawaii takes you to the same places the tours tout as hidden and private. 5 stars (Snorkel Hawaii The Big Island --New Edition) - The second edition of this book is great. There are so many snorkeling sites that this book will be a welcome companion for years. In fact, it has already made the Big Island a favorite. You won't find places like Frog Rock described anywhere else, so you will likely have this fabulous site to yourselves. One can snorkel a different site each day and find them just the way the book describes them. This book helped discover the Big Island in a very special way, and I fully recommend it. ... 5 stars (Happy) - The Maui Trailblazer got us organized and made it easy to roll right along and get a full appreciation of all the things that make Maui so extaordinary. With our crew it scored big, so big we bought a vacation timeshare. 5 stars (Real Maui, sunup to sunset) - Top notch travel writing we both agreed. Their current edition gives you many clever tips for saving money. With Maui Trailblazer, visiting Molokai became a reality and we didn't have to pay a tour company to take us there. Per instructions in the book, we easily made it there and back in one day. The ferry ride and views of Maui from the water made us feel like we were on an expensive cruise and we even spotted whales. You get three islands (they also cover Lanai) in one book, so make sure you stay at least seven days, ten would be even better. Every day was full of fun and many of the hikes our kids could do. Don't miss the Maui Swap Meet! Don't miss the best ever snorkeling out at Molokini! 5 stars (From a hiking fan) - This is Maui's outdoor bible. We've used it two years in a row now and can vouch for its incredible range of activities. It really excels when it comes to detailed driving directions complete with highway mile marker numbers. If it's your first visit, this feature really makes driving around a piece of cake. Clean design and liberal use of photos to illustrate where they're taking you to makes this la creme de la creme of the island guides. Hiking is my passion and I've tried them all.
