4 stars (Good Game, But Not As Good As The Xbox Version !!!!!!!!!) - I'm not the biggest PC gamer, I usually stick to my Xbox, but I must say this version has way better graphics, along with new weapons like the fuel rod cannon, and the flamethrower. Yet, the campaign mode is really no different from the Xbox version at all, and really you need some real advanced hardware as well, to play this game. The timing was off to now you have games like Half Life 2, Unreal, and Doom 3 out, on the PC as well as Far Cry and Call of Duty, really not the best timing since the Xbox version has been out now for 2 years. Yes the multi player has lots of cool options, with online options. The problem is that the online system doesn't work that well at all, and they also eliminated co op from the multi player options. The multi player on the pc version is just terrible, and is stripped down compared too the console version. So all you have is the single player campaign mode which is only 10 levels and about 12-14 hours of gameplay unless you put the game in Heroic mode. So after you beat the game their is no multi player fun at all, and there is no way to set up LAN parties and such with the pc version. Well, if you look past the flaws, the campaign mode is fun and has a edge graphic wise over the Xbox version, along with the Flamethrower and Fuel Rod Cannon, which were both nice toys. I will admit the controls on the PC version are easier than I would expect since I'm usually a system gamer. What can I say if you own a Pc and you don't own the Xbox, get the PC version, but if you are given a choice between the two I would still choose the Xbox version though, because it has more beyond the campaign mode. Halo is still a great game no matter what system it's on. The game will sometimes freeze up too which I didn't like. 5 stars (good) - Halo 2 is the sequel to the best selling xbox game Halo, which sold over 4million copies with unbeliveable graphics, gameplay, sound and a stoyline that left you in suspence wanting to know what will happen next. Halo 2 offers unbelivble graphics and sound, but lacks alittle on the stroyline and gameplay that made Halo so great. You do swich between the Master Cheif and a Covenant Elite durring the gameplay, but the storyline goes nowhere new. You fight on a ship in space in the first level (sound familer) but then you go and crash land on Earth this time and not on Halo. But when you leave Earth, you go and fight on another Halo world. (sound familer) and then you go and get the index(sound familer) and then go to the control center to stop it from being activated (sound familer). There is nothing new in the storyline for Halo 2 , its all the same, Halo2 is mainly an expansion for Halo1. 4 stars ( Halo 2 lacks in Campaign and Storyline) - With the introduction of Xbox live and the online play that it offers, one game stands above the rest, Halo 2 . Multiplayer on Halo 2 is a completely mind-blowing experience. It is possible to play anything from capture the flag to a completely custom game and still have it be entertaining for hours, days, or even months on end. The area of online play is where Halo 2 far surpasses the original Halo. Halo could be played online, but it was no where near as extensive as it is today, and as widely played. Halo 2 offers many new weapons: Battle Rifle, fires a three round burst with 2x zoom; the M6C pistol, a major downgrade from the original with the loss of its zoom and power; Beam Rifle, the Covenant's version of a sniper rifle. Not to mention the Plasma Sword, a weapon that can kill in one swing, which some view as a highly controversial weapon (mainly the unexperienced gamers). 5 stars (Halo for Mac) - A Good game, lots of action, 4 difficulty levels, what more could you want!! Challenging and Fun at any level, A must Have! 5 stars (HALO Combat Evolved Mac OS) - Over the past month this has been a truly addictive game. Just the campaigns have had me cringing and jumping out of my seat. The graphics are nifty, even on my somewhat modest dual 867 Powermac G4 with a paltry 32 MB of VRAM. If the campaigns are cool, the multiplayer action is downright marvelous! I connect via gameranger and play for hours against whoever is out there in myriad settings and game types. I am considering upgrading my machine in the hopes that there are more HALO titles coming! Kudos to whoever is responsible for porting this so that we few trivial Mac gamers can enjoy a taste of what the rest of the world is playing...albeit a few years later:-( 5 stars (Another Game to Remain in Your Collection Forever) - If you like FPS games (first person shooter), then you have probably heard about Halo. My Friends have the advantage of having an Xbox right (because of Halo)? Well as far as I knew Halo was only on Xbox and PC. It made me mad because after playing Halo multiplayer it was a blast and I couldn't even imagine how good the single player game would be. All I have is a Playstation 2 and a Mac. I thought to myself that Bungie (the creators of the game) would come out with a Mac version because their very first games like Marathon and Pathways were only for the Mac! And they were a great mac company. And what do you know, Halo comes out on Mac. I WAS SO HAPPY. I decided before I bought the game I might want a game pad similar to the Xbox controller because that is what i'm used to playing against my friends. So I look around on the net and I found the absolute perfect thing, an Xbox controller USB adapter that plugs in the USB port of your Mac or PC. So I can play Halo on my Mac with the Xbox controller set to the xbox controls!!!!!!!! Just like having an xbox...
