Leaping Freddy is a classic arcade game where our hero Freddy is attempting to collect treasures from the Wizard's Castle by progressing through a maze of platform screens. Progression through the screens isn't always linear as one room often requires a key which is located a couple of rooms away. The screens have ladders to climb/descend, ropes to grab and descend, gaps to jump, on/off platforms to navigate via timing, rolling log platforms...... 5 stars (great tool for team and conference) - I thought this book was extremely helpful with ideas on how to improve service and thereby improve business 5 stars (The Fred Factor) - We purchased "The Fred Factor" to use as part of an all day retreat in our department. During the earlier part of the day, we discussed the previous fiscal year results, our plans for the current year and then used questions on the book for discussion of what it would be like to be a "Fred" and work and live with people like him. All were requested to read the book before the day, and so it proved a helpful backdrop to the focus of our day. Our groups had some interesting perspectives...great tool for team building! 5 stars (Nice review of the value of going the extra mail) - This short book focuses on a mailman Mark Sanborn met, a man named Fred. When the author first met Fred, Fred took an effort to get to know his new customer, and find ways to do a better job as a mailman. This book about the value of doing a better job, how to build relationships, and why we should take initiative. In short by going the extra mile we'll have a better life, and others will benefit. It is a good book, and a short book. It is well written. The book is entertaining and at the same time makes many good points. The first of four sections covers how the author met Fred the mailman, and how very quickly the author realized that Fred was a superstar mail carrier. The basics of what a "Fred" is are explored, and then the author mentions sightings of other "Freds." The second section explains how you can become a Fred. Basically you need to build relationships with others so you know them well enough to then be able to be create, take initiative and make a difference. The third section gives pointers on how you can help others grow into being Freds. The basic steps are to: 1) Find - how do you recognize a Fred 2) Reward - how should Freds be rewarded 3) Educate - how help people improve thei... 4 stars (A Must Read) - I thought this book was very motivational. It makes you understand how much further you can go and how much more you receive( success, referrals, whatever) by just being you! Very inspirational, a must read for sales or any profession dealing with the public. 5 stars (Inspiring!) - Many Americans are unhappy because they were never raised to be a "Fred". No wealth or possessions can make up for an unhealthy and usually self centered attitude in life. Choose to be a "Fred" and start living with and giving much joy! 5 stars (Not for the lazy or unmotivated......) - This book is a great "how to" make a difference and impact people's lives every day. This is not a fiction book for you to just enjoy and read---although it is a good "read". It is a book which will inspire you to take action. It isn't a story about Fred. It is your story and the story of how you can create an extraordinary life for yourself and the people you touch. If you are a person of action and want to make a difference in people's lives, then read the book, embrace it's concepts and become a Fred yourself. ... 4 stars (Just a good book..) - This book is a good one, but has one little problem, the book doesn't have much coherence because there are too many people writting the book. You can note the difference of redaction between the chapters because were written for different person and that's what make the book very difficult to read, because one chapters are good, but others are very bad. I prefer a book written by a few person because are much clear. 5 stars (Clarification about the edition) - This is the 10th edition, published in 2001. Not quite as 'out-of-date' as suggested by the previous reviewer. It is, however, dificult to keep these texts current. 4 stars (Good....but out of date!) - "Goodman & Gilman" has been the staple of pharmacology for many years, and with good reason. While I agree with the other reviewers that it is the gold standard, in the "old days" the book was updated about every 5 years, and this one came out in 1996. Given that the book probably took a couple of years to revise, the information is close to 10 years out of date! As is stated in the Notice on p. xviii, "Medicine is an ever-changing science." I have been waiting for the 10th Edition for some time now...! ... 3 stars (Why so large?) - I am a University of Minnesoota student and we use this text for our introductory Human Anatomy course. (Unfortunately they came out with a new edition and I couldn't sell it back to the bookstore.) Strictly in terms of the content this book was average because I often needed more information on certain aspects of the human anatomy. My real frustration was due to the fact that I feel the publisher should have supplied a carrying case specifically designed to carry such a large, awkward book. I realize that the size contributed to larger pictures but I feel it was a bit overboard! Finally, as I mentioned before, a new edition came out very recently. The new book resembles the previous edition too much. It's unfortunate we live in such a capitalistic society as to allow such a situation to take place.. ... 1 stars (Hmmm.) - I honestly do not know how to rate this, because I still have not received this book. I already had my first test. So, I had to go buy this textbook from the bookstore on campus and was charged an outrageous amount. Also, I emailed the seller to see what the tracking number was and still haven't had response. 5 stars (Essentials of Geology) - The book has a wealth of information, I have enjoyed reading it, and using it in my class. 4 stars (A good textbook for the the physical geology student) - This book is intended as a text for the collegiate course in physical geology. The course encompasses a general overview of the physical processes by which the Earth continues to develop, both gradually and by sudden events of great magnitude. Plate tectonics, volcanism, erosion, mountain building and shaping, mineralogy, mass wasting, the impact of man, glaciation, and all other manner of things are clearly discussed in nineteen separate chapters. The color photography and diagrams are remarkably good, and closely follow the text, which is a real boon, especially to a student who is hard-pressed for time. The coverage is up-to-date and accurate in all respects. Many of the photographs, such as the those of the eruptions at Montserrat, are very current. Given the fact that physical geology is the first of six courses required for any geology degree, and that any well-informed person should have no trouble understanding the contents of this book, I would recommend it to any reader interested in earth science, student or not. ... 5 stars (excellent text) - This textbook is an excellent way to learn chemistry. It provides very nice graphics to explain the text. This text makes learning chemistry very enjoyable and interesting. Senese and Brady did a wonderful job with this book. I highly recommend it. 5 stars (this text does stand out from the pack...) - ...in a number of ways. The chapter on stoichiometry is the first one I flip to when I'm evaluating a new text. This book does a better job of providing a conceptual foundation for the mole concept than any other book I've seen. It shows the rationale behind the concept by working a few simple problems with and without moles. The problem setups emphasize strategic thinking by asking students to identify the 'critical link' that connects given information with the problem's goal. The "Is the answer reasonable" checks given with each problem are more detailed and more helpful than in other texts; they help students develop a sense for what is and isn't reasonable in the answer, using alternative back-of-the-envelope solutions that often provide additional insight into the nature of the problem. The chapter on atomic structure is the only one I've seen that uses the central idea of quantum mechanics (wave-particle duality) as its central theme. It elegantly uses the de Broglie relation to tie wave and particle behaviors together, in the process naturally explaining where quantum numbers come from and why changes in electron confinement in a reaction can lead to color changes. The thermodynamics chapter is also quite innovative, discarding the idea of entropy as a measure of disorder and instead stressing its connection with the number of ways a state can be realized. A simple model of heat flow from a hot object to a cold object makes the connection between probability and process spontaneity clear. The approach for explaining and predicting molecular shapes is much better than that used in other texts, where students end up memorizing a large... 4 stars (Substantial Book ! ) - With what books cost these days, this a very nice art book covering most eras and the more important works of art though out history. 4 stars (Still a great book) - For those who are new to art history and need a good overview, Gardner has always been a great place to start. It and Janson's History of Art are the books most often used for introductory art history classes, and you can see why: Garner gives a really broad and understandable overview of thousands of years of art history. Plus, nearly all of the book's illustrations are in color, which is a very rare thing for any art history book. My only criticisms are for more advanced students of art history. First of all, if you've got the 11th edition, don't worry about getting the 12th - the new edition makes relatively small changes to the old version, adding more color pictures as well as the CD-ROM. And those who already have a good knowledge of art history may want to look elsewhere - being such a wide survey, "Art Through the Ages" doesn't have time to go into a lot of the little details and lesser-known pieces that make art history so fun. 5 stars (Excellent introduction to art history) - I first used Gardner's Art Through the Ages for my AP art history class back in high school, and I still refer to it sometimes for my college art history courses. It goes over a huge array of artists and periods (both in the Western and non-Western traditions) and is helpful if you need to find some general information or refresh your memory. The picture reproductions are very good (if not slightly dark). Be aware that this book will sometimes not provide in-depth explanations for all of its subjects; however, this text is a firm foundation of knowledge for beginner art history students. Highly recommended. ... 5 stars (Excellent Latin Textbook) - As a Latin teacher, I can tell you that this is an excellent textbook to use with your students. It contains sentences for translation in its original Latin from authors such as Cicero, Ovid, Seneca, Horace, Julius Caesar, Virgil, etc. I have the other editions but having the hardcover is definitely something else. 5 stars (Latin canon) - This book is not only a textbook for learning latin, but makes the learning process more straightforward. ...
