4 stars (Six Sigma Critique) - This book is an excellent resource, however it is not an easy read. If you are unfamiliar with the Six Sigma language it takes awhile to sift through the information. There is a lot o information provided that will serve as a longterm resource. 2 stars (This is not a Six Sigma Handbook) - I bought this book because it's a Six Sigma Handbook, but unfortunately it is not, is a book of SPC, it has a lot about control charts, run charts, etc. about hypothesis testing just a little!, anyway. I have to select better my books. 5 stars (The Best Six Sigma Book from alpha to z-tests ) - This book is a must have for anyone applying six sigma to real world problems. Not only do I use it on a nearly daily basis, I'm finding that my engineers are embracing the terminology and concepts so clearly conveyed in this text. We're spending 20-minutes at each staff meeting to review topics from basic statistics to advanced application of teaming concepts to get results. Instead of the usual soft stuff application examples that seem to illustrate that the author thinks everyone's making clothes pins, Pyzdek's book shows that he's really lived this stuff. 3 stars (Works good, but with lots of trouble - revised) - Maybe its just me. This software gets incredible reviews, and no one has any negatives, so I bought it. It does seem to do a good job finding the nasties. But the first thing I noticed was sloppy programming in the interface, like overlapping text, and border lines that aren't on the border. Hardly the stuff of award-winning software. Then I had trouble with it locking up my computer during updates, and sometimes during scans. I finally turned the automatic feature off. And it wouldn't automatically deal with the threats it finds, it waits all night for me to 'take action'. When I tried to use Active Desktop, forget it. Instead of synchronizing it would crash. I just did a clean install, of a brand new download, on a brand new HD, and I'm still having problems with it, just different ones. Like I said, maybe it's just me... Aug 23: I found the tech support at counterspy to be very attentive in trying to address my concerns, with some success. Now that I've upgraded to a new PC and XP, it's working flawlessly. I'm real happy with it's active protection. I would highly recommend it and give it 5 stars, if your running XP. 5 stars (Leading The Way) - Every now and then, a product comes on to the market which actually does just what you want it to do. I am hardly a system tech, but regularly clean my PC with various programs, and considered my system spyware free. That is until I read PC Advisor`s (UK) review of anti-spyware programs recently, and on their recommendation installed Sunbelt`s Counterspy. It was a breeze to install, and the fast scan showed 6 spyware progs installed. After I got up off the floor, Counterspy cleaned the drive and left me feeling more than a tad relieved. Sure, nothings` 100% foolproof, but this is easy to use, gives auto updates, and gives minimal system lag, not to mention being cheaper than the competition. If you`re unsure, read the reviews! 5 stars (BEST ANTI-SPYWARE PROGRAM!)... 5 stars (Handy and Useful, but pricey) - This book is a concise reference for use by practitioners and those on the shop floor. I use it daily in our one square mile manufacturing complex. Our people understand the tools with help of the illustrations. The how to use the tools is clear. Sure some may be overwhelmed by the statistical detail; however, the graphs are useful in showing folks what we as a team are working towards. At only 265 pages, this spiral book is pricey, but that's expected from the millionaires of the Six Sigma Academy. ASQ's entries into this segment pale in comparison. Overall, I use it in any public course offering I teach. Keep it simple! ...
