5 stars (The Book that started it all for Polymer Clay) - It was the first book about PC. It was the only book available for quite some time. Many of the most renowned PC artists started with this book and you can see the influence in their work. I have just about every PC book there is and this one has some of the best explanations of the underlying basic methods available. Sort of like the "alphabet" of PC. I reread it often. I consider it a reference book rather than a project book. I have seen another very new PC enthusiast buy the book and dislike it (as a previous reviewer mentioned.) I think this comes from someone making a cursory review of the pictures in the book and deciding that is not what they want to make. I think they may have missed the trees for the forest. There is a lot of depth there. I highly recommend it for anyone serious about learning polymer clay. 1 stars (Disappointed) - I am extremely disappointed with this book. I bought it because I thought it would provide more ideas for "Jewelry Making"-it did not. For collectors or people how are just interested in Rolex a MUST. 5 stars (Great Gift for your Husband) - This review is probably a little unorthodox because I have never actually READ "The Rolex Report". However, I bought the book for my husband for his birthday last month and he just loves it. He's been into Rolex for a few years now and he owns a couple of them. He's an engineer and has always been the type to educate himself on various topics that interest him. He had been looking for a good book on Rolex and when I came across the Rolex Report I thought it would make a nice gift. Boy was I right. It's been around six weeks now and I still can't seem to pry it out of his hands for more than ten minutes at a time!! LOL !!! Again, I can't really comment of the contents, but from what he has told me about it this must be one heck of a book. Come to think of it, he's had his nose burried in that book every night this week so I should probably take a look to see what's in there !!! ;) Anyway, it was the highlight of his birthday and it has certainly earned me some "brownie points". 2 stars (Information Too Difficult to Find and Too Small Print to Read) - This book contains a lot of information, however some of it is too difficult to locate and the print is so small that you have to use a magnafying glass to read it!! 5 stars (Incredible reference!!) - This book is definitely worth every penny! It goes into great detail on the different types of rugs, the history of the people (from a rug making perspective). There are beautiful pictures of rugs as examples, maps showing both the old names of areas as well as those in use today. The writing style is fun to read (not overly dry). The first 80 mpgs or so are dedicated to the rug and rumaking tself - construction, dyes, design, the people who make them. The rest of the book is broken down into the different areas where rugs were/are made. These sections provide great details on the specifics of the styles of rugs produced by those people, why they use certain colors etc. Excelent excellent book! I'd buy it again in a heart beat.
