Rome- Total War Description:
Rome: Total War review: 5 stars (All the fun of that other Strategy Game, plus battles!) - As a long-time Civ fan, I was excited about the strategic aspects of playing Rome: Total War. Then I fought my first tactical battle, and was completely enchanted. The ability to pause the game, move the camera to all sorts of angles, and the start the game again to see what happens is incredible.
Wow. What the other reviewers said. The music and action on the battlefield are outstanding. I imagine I will eventually start letting the game autoresolve some of the minor battles, but right now even the small skirmishes are great fun.
Kudos to CA!. 5 stars (The game I've waited for all my life...) - I'm not going to give a long description, the previous reviewers have already made many good and vaild points. This is just my short version...
This is the epitome of what war game should be. The combat and empire building is challenging and rewards real tactics but the controls and methods of the game are very easy to learn. And very good graphics, which is rare in a war game.
No self respecting strategy gamer should be without it...period.
5 stars (One of the Best) - I would have to say I am very impressed with Rome: Total War. I have been playing it now since it first came out and it is still amazing. If you are a fan of the Civilization series, you should switch to Rome: Total War. It blows any civ game out of the water and is by far the best in the Total War Series. It's fun to play and has great replayability value as you can be a number of different factions during the campaign mode or just choose to fight single battles. From managing your individual cities to the Real Time battles, every aspect of this game will make you hooked on it. Not since the Age of Empires series have I been this addicted to this type of game.
