Lab Results and Evaluation for IT4800:
After scanning with the IT4800, we found that the IT4800 has a focal point of about 5 inches and is designed to read images 10 mils and greater. We were very impressed with the light weight and very fast reading of the scanner, even with large Data Matrix and PDF417 symbols. The IT4800 imager was able to dependably read PDF417 and linear barcodes printed with our ActiveX Control and DLL with an X dimension as small as .015CM and the Data Matrix ActiveX Control as small as .025CM. It also dependably scanned DataMatrix symbols printed with our Data Matrix Font at 3 points which is an X dimension of .025CM or 10 mils. If you are interested in reading POSTNET barcodes, you will need to use the IT4800.

After enabling the Two-dimensional Print Quality Assessment feature, we were able to validate the quality of printed 2D barcodes including Data Matrix and Postnet symbols, with the IT4800. Below we have included the output we received from the scanner after enabling this feature and scanning some slightly defective barcodes that still scanned properly.
