2 stars (Wicom SuperPen pro) - I am really disappointed with the item. The wireless feature is NOT really wireless. You can only beam about 10 -20 words via infrared. With all the new technology it is way behind the consumer expectations that you still have to use a cable to transfer data. I can not see that it would take that much to fix the problem, so the enduser will be able to use the infrared for data transfers. I wonder if they never heard about bluetooth technology either. It takes some time to get used to the pen, scanner recognition is about 80% ok. IF YOU SCAN REALLY SLOW! For that the company calls them self "world leader in personal, portable scanning pens" I think that there is a lot of room for the competition to the real leader!!!!!!!!!!! 3 stars (just alright) - this is a good item if you have poor handwriting but take notes from books. Some what difficutlt to operate initially but with practice is helpful if you like to keep track of small passages. Is it worth it. depends on how much you use it. 5 stars (great scanning, good IR connectivity) - I've had it for a day and have not even attempted to connect via cable to the PC. BTW, the unit came with serial cable, and Wizcom is sending a USB cable for free. I am hapy with IR. I beam scanned text to my PDA and the PC. I can also receive text files from the PDA and the PC. It has two main functions Dictionary/Thesaurus and scanning text to be trasfered. I bought it primarily for the first option and i order to hear pronunciation of and meaning of words I do not recongize. Its speaker is not too loud, so you need to bring it closer to the ear, but it has regular L/R earbuds with volume. I set the options to automatically pronounce a word after I scan it and show definitions. Medical, Computer, Wall Street, etc dictionaries are alredy pre-loaded. IRIS Pen Executive Handheld Scanner

5 stars (great product!) - First, I hesitated to buy this product because of a few bad reviews. But then I wanted to take a chance and I'm very glad I bought it finally! IRIS Pen Executive works great! 2 stars (Not impressed!) - I have yet to get this pen to scan one complete, readable sentence and believe me I have tried. I tried calibrating it on different shades of white paper to see if that helped but to no avail. The only thing it would scan reasonably well was the instruction booklet that came with the pen. Go figure! Iris support tells me to calibrate and practice but I learned to play guitar faster than I have learned to use this scanner! 5 stars (Believe it!) - I did hours of research on hand held scanners and almost did not purchase ANY do to all the confusion. I took a chance and Bought the IRISpen Executive scanner. In only a few minutes I had the software loaded (painless) and was scanning material from everything I could get my hands on. Once I learned how to hold it for my hand posture (5 minutes)it was a snap. I have read other reviews and can not figure out why anyone would not want this... it is fantastic. It is much faster then typing. In a few minutes I had scanned pages of material that I had collected for over a year. I am not a techy kind of guy so this was awesome. I give it 5 stars!
