I Read It- but I Don-t Get It- Comprehension Strategies for Adolescent Readers Description:
I Read It, but I Don't Get It: Comprehension Strategies for Adolescent Readers review: 5 stars (Reluctant teenage readers) - Great book with great ideas. Would love to have the author for a school inservice or training. 5 stars (Wonderful Resource!!!) - I am an assistive technology specialist and wanted to be able to communicate effectively with teachers about lower tech strategies they can use in their classroom. I now will give them a few strategies and point them to this book. I took notes throughout my first reading to ensure I can more readily recall details---I only do this when it's worth the effort! LOVED THIS BOOK! 4 stars (Excellent and Succinct) - Cris Tovani's book clearly and succinctly lays out strategies for helping those students who struggle with reading or pick up a book only reluctantly. Using real world experiences and step by step presentations, the reader comes away with a much better understanding of how to address concerns we all face. Not just for reading or English teachers!
