Dantz Retrospect 7 Professional Description:
Dantz Retrospect 7 Professional review: 5 stars (Pleased) - I found this product to be very well done. It is a bit of overkill for a home user, but well worth the price. I would recomend it to any user from home user on up. 3 stars (Retrospect Back-Up) - Most importantly, USE DVDs to back-up - took way too long & more than 25 CDs. And, now, I'm kind of lost of how and when to edit or update my back-up. I was prompted by David Lawrence (WGN radio) to purchase & install, but for a home personal computer, I think that this is just too much. The $$$ was a bit high, but the labor, CDS, time and confusion was just WAY TOO HIGH. Not real satisfied. Linda Hoffman, Mokena, Illinois 1 stars (Should it be this hard to build good software?) - I'll admit this stuff drives me crazy. The idea that software companies turn basic functionality (e.g., backup software) into rocket science complete with every bell and whistle known to man simply for some market differentiation. And in the end what do you get... that's right, the BLUE SCREEN of DEATH! Every time a backup starts on my brand new Dell D600 running XP professional, BOOM! BLUE SCREEN! Every Time! Well, surely I must have some complex backup routine running... NOPE. Simple backup of a folder to a network drive. That's it. Boom! BLUE SCREEN. Every time. Boom! BLUE SCREEN. Boom! BLUE SCREEN. Arghhh, $80.00 down the tubes... Boom! BLUE SCREEN... Wish I was wrong... Arghhhh... Boom! BLUE SCREEN... Anyone have $80 I can borrow?
