3 stars (OK, basic introduction to really neat logic puzzles) - Good introduction to SuDoku but lacked depth on techniques for solving more advanced puzzles. 4 stars (Great intro to Su Doku with helpful instructions) - This is a good book if you are new work Su Doku puzzles. It has good definitions of terms, but it also has a few typos in the instructions which caused some confusion. I had to reread the sections a couple of times before I understood what was being said. However, once past that, I was able to begin working the puzzles. A good variety of easy, medium and difficult puzzles. I am not too please with the paper content; it does not hold up well to eraser marks. 5 stars (A Good Book to Start Solving SUDOKUS) - I first came across SUDOKU in May of this year.I have been a puzzle enthusiast since I was in High School ,over 55 years ago;and have seen a myriad of puzzles and games come and go.I really have no favorites as I enjoy them all.From the time I completed my first SUDOKU,I knew there was something different and special about these puzzles.No special knowledge or special abilities are required for anyone of any language,skill or age to do this puzzle.This is similar to Jigsaws and Crosswords;and the reason these puzzles have become universally popular,probably outstripping all other types of puzzes.I believe we will soon see speed competitions taking various forms including TV. Checking out the Books available,I found a few already published,and without doubt there will be a flood of them in the near future.You will see among my reviews,a few others I have checked out. This book is just as good as the others to get you started.It covers the basic methods and hints to help you solve them. In addition,it gives you 240 SUDOKU puzzles. In all fairness,to date ,there is not really much to pick and choose among the half dozen books at this time.However,I would not at all be surprised to see more books shortly;describing more sophistophed and sp... 5 stars (What it's like to be Howard Lederer) - This book is a quick read and will do nothing to make you a better poker player. But it's a great story. If you want to know what it's like to play high stakes poker at the highest levels, this book is great. Gives you a much more accurate picture of folks like Lederer, Brunson, Ivey, Reese, etc than what you see on the World Poker Tour. Lots of great stories and anectdotes about the personalities and some really big games. 4 stars (Inside the Richest Poker Game of All Time) - In the days before the poker boom - today poker players are star personalities and hours and hours of games are televised on cable, a super rich amateur decided to take on the best money poker players in the world. Andy Beal played head-up matches with these pros and the results were surprising. With the pro's essentially being the "house" (the player with the greater advantage - like the dealer in Blackjack) - Andy worked and studied on how to lessen these advantages that the pros brought in to each and every game. Also some great insight into the lives away from the poker rooms of Vegas for the folks who make a living on the fall of the cards. If you are the sort of person who who pick this book up, then you will probably enjoy this brisk and entertaining read. 5 stars (Pure Enjoyment) - If you enjoy poker, and enjoy reading, this is an outstanding book. No strategy, just a great story about what many of us can only dream of, a person who is filthy rich, up against people who would gamble on anything they feel like they have an edge at. 5 stars (Outsiders no more) - Unique and intriquing look at statistical analysis of the game of Football. Their statistics are gaining more and more recognition and deservedly so. I must have for football and fantasy fans everywhere. 4 stars (Good stuff) - The predicted stats seem a little low, but they're all low so it's still a good point of comparison. I think the custom stats are ok, analyzing football stats like baseball stats still has a way to go but this is a good starting spot. Not perfect but well worth the price. More info than a half dozen fantasy magazines, nowhere near the cost. 5 stars (If you like the NFL, you will love this book.) - Although I sometimes get bogged down with the statistical analysis in the book, once all the number crunching is done and the authors get down to discussing what they've discovered based on their analysis, it all makes sense and really makes this an oustanding book. This is a book you will read through once and then constantly refer back to during the season. Where the predictions correct? Does this team stuff the ball at the line of scrimmage like they said?
